The Oranje Fonds is one of the largest social funds within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, supporting initiatives that strengthen communities and encourage people to participate in society. Throughout the Caribbean part of the Kingdom, the organization works closely with local partners and non-profit organizations to promote volunteering, social impact and community development.

The partnership
Caribbean Legacy supports the Oranje Fonds with recurring communication projects throughout the Caribbean.
The collaboration focuses on two annual initiatives that each serve a different purpose. The first is DOET, the Kingdom’s largest volunteer campaign, which relies on accessible digital platforms that connect organizations with volunteers across the Caribbean islands. The second is Appeltjes van Oranje, an annual award recognizing outstanding social initiatives, where organizations from the Caribbean are also represented.
Although the projects differ in execution, both require careful coordination, clear communication and a strong understanding of the Caribbean context.
Our approach
For the DOET campaign, Caribbean Legacy supports the annual optimization of the websites for Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire, Sint Maarten, Saba and St. Eustatius. By collecting feedback from local non-profit organizations, we help improve the user experience each year, ensuring that organizations can easily register volunteer projects, request funding and connect with volunteers, while making participation accessible for residents across the islands.
Alongside the digital platforms, Caribbean Legacy also supports the Appeltjes van Oranje program during its Caribbean activities. During the annual pitch day and award presentations, our team produces interview videos featuring the Caribbean nominees and winners, helping share their stories and highlight the social impact of their work.
By combining digital platform support with visual storytelling, Caribbean Legacy helps the Oranje Fonds strengthen its communication and community engagement throughout the Caribbean.
