The Ombudsman of Curaçao is an independent institution that investigates complaints about government bodies and their actions. Through its annual reports, the Ombudsman provides insight into its activities, cases and key statistics from the previous year.

The project
The Ombudsman of Curaçao wanted to make the key statistics from its annual report more accessible through video.
Rather than relying solely on the full written report, the aim was to present important figures and information in a clear visual format that could be shared with a broader audience.
Caribbean Legacy was brought in to transform the provided script and statistics into an animated video. After creating the first edition, we continued the format for the following annual report, producing the statistical videos for both 2024 and 2025.
Our approach
For each edition, we used the visual identity of that year’s annual report as the starting point for the animation.
We translated its colors, graphic elements and overall design into motion graphics, creating a video that felt like a natural extension of the report rather than a separate communication piece.
The supplied statistics were visualized through animated typography, graphics and transitions to make the information easier to follow on screen. Caribbean Legacy also arranged the voice-over, bringing the visual and spoken information together into one clear presentation.
By maintaining the same approach across multiple editions while adapting the design to each annual report, the videos provide the Ombudsman with an accessible way to communicate its annual statistics beyond the written publication.
