National Ombudsman is an independent institution that helps citizens resolve complaints about government organizations and public authorities. In addition to serving residents in the European Netherlands, the National Ombudsman also supports the Caribbean Netherlands, ensuring that residents of Bonaire, Saba and St. Eustatius have access to independent assistance when dealing with government-related issues.

The partnership

Since 2017, Caribbean Legacy has supported the National Ombudsman with the communication and coordination surrounding its activities in the Caribbean Netherlands.

One of the key objectives is to ensure that residents of Bonaire, Saba and St. Eustatius are aware of the National Ombudsman’s visiting consultation hours, where they can discuss complaints or concerns regarding government organizations. Because the institution is based in the European Netherlands, clear local communication and well-organized outreach are essential to making these services accessible across the islands.

The collaboration extends beyond individual campaigns and focuses on providing consistent communication support before, during and after each visit.

Our approach

Caribbean Legacy provides end-to-end communication support for the National Ombudsman’s activities in the Caribbean Netherlands.

Our work includes the development and production of communication materials such as newspaper advertisements, posters and radio commercials, as well as media planning and purchasing to ensure these messages effectively reach residents across the three islands. In addition, we coordinate practical aspects of the visiting consultation hours, including local hosts, catering and on-site support.

Alongside these recurring communication efforts, Caribbean Legacy also develops photography libraries that provide the National Ombudsman with professional visual content for publications, reports and future communication materials.

By combining creative production, media coordination and local logistical support, Caribbean Legacy enables the National Ombudsman to communicate effectively with residents of Bonaire, Saba and St. Eustatius while ensuring every visit is professionally organized and well supported.
