Annual event production
The Unox New Year’s Dive at Zanzibar Curaçao has become a well-known tradition on the island, bringing together hundreds of participants to celebrate the first day of the year.
Caribbean Legacy has been responsible for the event’s aftermovie production for multiple consecutive years. The challenge extends beyond simply documenting the activities. With a program that includes live entertainment, a brass band, traditional Dutch pea soup, family activities, a dolphin show and the iconic New Year’s Dive itself, the goal is to capture the atmosphere and energy of the entire event in a way that reflects the experience of being there.
The final production serves as both a recap of the event and a promotional asset for future editions.
Our approach
Our approach focuses on storytelling through atmosphere, emotion and audience experience. Rather than documenting the event chronologically, we create an aftermovie that captures the feeling of the day and the excitement surrounding the start of a new year.
Throughout the event, our team captures a combination of wide establishing shots, crowd reactions, entertainment, activities and key event moments. By combining these elements with dynamic editing and music, we create a fast-paced and engaging recap that highlights both the scale of the event and the personal experiences of its visitors.
The result is an annual aftermovie that not only documents the event, but helps strengthen its identity as one of Curaçao’s most recognizable New Year’s traditions.
