The partnership
Caribbean Legacy has been working with the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard since 2020. Over the years, we have supported the organization through a wide range of communication initiatives, including website development, educational content modules, public awareness campaigns and ongoing social media management.
One of the key objectives of the collaboration is helping residents across the six islands better understand the role of the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard, the regulations they enforce and the work they carry out on a daily basis. Communicating these topics comes with unique challenges. Content must be informative and accessible to a diverse audience, while taking into account different languages, varying levels of knowledge and strict privacy requirements surrounding operational personnel.
As the partnership developed, Caribbean Legacy became increasingly involved in the organization’s public communication efforts, helping translate complex information into content that is clear, relevant and easy to understand.
Our approach
Since 2022, Caribbean Legacy has been responsible for the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard’s social media management and ongoing content production.
To support this effort, our team has conducted productions across all six islands, creating an extensive content library covering the many aspects of the organization. This includes content featuring aircraft, helicopters, patrol vessels, cutters, boarding teams, search and rescue operations and other operational activities throughout the Dutch Caribbean.
A key part of our role is translating complex operational topics, maritime regulations and Coast Guard activities into content that is accessible, informative and relevant to the public. Through a combination of photography, video production, motion graphic animations and educational content, we help strengthen public awareness and understanding of the organization’s role within the region.
Today, Caribbean Legacy continues to support the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard through ongoing content production, social media management and communication support for new initiatives and campaigns across the Dutch Caribbean.
